The Summervilles' service I found was excellent. They were really helpful as Liam and I had never had a dog before. Julie kept us informed of when the pups were born and what our puppy was like and how he is doing. Julie said we could come and visit Alfie when we liked but with us living in York and Alfie living in County Durham we only managed a couple of times but Julie was very flexible. On one of our visits we were aloud to leave a blanket there so it could get the smells of Alfie's mum and his brothers and sisters so when we picked him up a few weeks later he'd still have his smells around him. 
The day we went to pick up Alfie he had his vet check and had his identification chip put in. Julie had all the papers ready for us and kept saying if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask even after we've taken Alfie home. Julie explained that once before they have had puppies back to help the owners toilet train them, I find this service more then exceptional. We've had no problems with Alife and we've kept in touch with Julie sending the odd photo of Alfie so they can see how handsome he his.

We stumbled upon Summervilles Gun Dogs when we decided to find a new addition to our family. Being Cocker Spaniel lovers and having had the privilege of years of companionship, from 4 previous Cocker Spaniels, we had spent a long time looking for the right dog. Julie welcomed us in and we where immediately made to feel at home. The accommodation for their dogs is second to none, and the care and attention to their dogs is unquestionable. We have now decided to have a second dog from Julie and Darren and we are looking forward to taking our new addition home with us. Currently we Have Jenna a Blue Roan Dame. She is wonderful, as I have always had Dogs previously. Lexus our Golden Labrador, a giant of a dog, and now Theo. Well words fail me on how much Julie does for the puppies before they go to their new homes. If you are looking for a Cocker Spaniel or now even Labradors, then you need go no further then Summervilles Gun Dogs.

That is the best way to describe our experience. We had been looking for a dog that best suited our family for some time, and after a lot of research and thought, decided on a working type cocker. We were looking for a good family dog for the 5 of us, a friendly happy dog, a dog that is easy to train, full of life but that is gentle. We started searhing magazines, the web and those in the know as to where to get a good one. As luck would have it, after months of looking we stumbled accross this site. Vanessa phoned Julie Summers and right from the start you knew absolutely that they were breeding for the love of the dogs, for the quality of their temperament, as well as the quality of the pedigree. You also knew that they were being lovingly reared within the family, mixing with adults, children and other animals . It was most important for us our 'new' dog was well treated from the start so that we could continue to also give him as best a life as we could. We picked up Louis, a beautiful brown and tan cocker and are all absolutely delighted with him. He is a fantastic, well balanced, intelligent dog, who has fitted in to our family environment straight away. We have been given advice every step of the way when asked, the advice that comes from people that know their dogs and that also has been absolutely invaluable. After we bought Louis, like a lot of people we had a lot of questions and because of the relationship they build with you, the genuine interest they have with all of their litters, we have called upon them for advice on numerous occasions. The speed of response for us was fantastic and always genuine. We cannot find a single fault. In my opinion, Summervilles gundogs are leading the field in every way. Great, good looking, happy dogs that are also very true to their breed. We cannot rate them highly enough and sincerely hope they do well in all they do. They deserve to.

I had decided to buy a Cocker Spaniel Pup and after a personal recommendation, we purchased our bitch Cocker pup (Kennis) from Julie & Darren At every stage of the event … from birth to collection at 8 weeks old, Julie kept us fully informed of any developments and when we finally collected Kennis everything was ready and in order including a supply of her Food, Puppy Guide, KC Registration, Vaccination and Microchip papers Kennis is one of the most confident outgoing pups that I have ever had the pleasure of purchasing … and being a professional handler and breeder I have seen a fair number of puppies over the years. I am absolutely delighted with her and now at 14 weeks old the real fun begins! We recently purchased a wonderful Labrador puppy from Julie and Darren and found the whole experience very professional and trouble free. The most striking aspect of dealing with Julie and Darren is that this is not merely a business for them but that they genuinely care about the well being of the dogs themselves. We were kept informed at every stage and appreciated their patience during our numerous visits. Vaccination, kennel club registration and “microchiping” for “Tag” was all part of the friendly service as was a going away present of food, toys and sound advice. I was recommended to Julie Summers of Summevilles Gundogs by another breeder.  I have had nothing but respect for Julie for her professional approach and friendly welcome to me when I bought my Black Labrador Puppy, Artimus.  She kept me informed every step of the way and it was never any bother to her to answer any questions I had.  She always returned my ‘phone calls immediately.  The puppies were always very happy, clean and content when I visited.  When I picked Arti up to bring home all the paperwork was completed and I had virtually nothing to do.  The Puppy Pack was a great idea as is the idea of rubbing a toy or blanket on the other puppies or mother for the puppy when leaving is brilliant.  I recommended it to my daughter when she went to pick up her puppy from another breeder. (She wanted a Chocolate Labrador, otherwise she would have gone to Julie as well).  I cannot recommend Julie highly enough.  If you want a healthy, happy puppy, go to her.
